Sonja Kay Ruff Aug 31, 2017 12:00 AM A A September 4, 1967 - August 25, 2017 Sonja Kay Ruff passed away August 25, 2017. She was born in Medford September 4, 1967 to Dick and Thelma (Klepp) Ruff. She was a 1985 graduate of Medford Senior High School. Sonja worked as a phlebotomist. Besides her love for children, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping, and canning, of which “mean” salsas were her forte. She had a soft spot for animals and nurtured those that were unloved. She is survived by her two children, Matthew Blumenfeld of Applegate and Amber Starr of Central Point; sister, Susan Ruff (Rey Medina) of Rock Springs, Wyoming; brother, Jon (Denise) Ruff of Central Point; partner, Jerry Starr; and canine companion, Hank. She was preceded in death by her parents and maternal and paternal grandparents. Sonja Kay Ruff
