Akins, Horstmans win golf tourneys Claude Akins and Claude Akins Jr. won the 12-and-under division and Mark and Noah Horstman claimed the 13-to-17 division in a parent and junior tournament Saturday at Bear Creek Golf Course. Gary and Nikki Small were second in the 12-and-under class where parents and juniors alternated shots. Steve and Christian Bernard were third. Nick and Pat Daggit were second in the 13-to-17 division, where a scramble format was used. Craig and Chris Batsole were third. The tournament was the first of eight junior tournaments scheduled in the spring and summer. For information on future tournaments, call 773-1822.
