Henderson scored nine points in the third quarter as Beaverton (18-8) turned a 22-21 lead into a 41-32 advantage. His layin with 2:36 left in the fourth capped a 9-0 run that put the Beavers comfortably in front 50-33. Teammate Andrew Crossley added 15 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and was the only other player in double figures for Beaverton. On defense, Beaverton held Clackamas (20-5) to a meager 29 percent from the field. Clackamas' top two scorers coming in, Alex Swerzbin and Dan Muhler, shot a combined 6-for-24. Swerzbin led the Cavaliers with 12 points and Tyson Papenfuss added 11. JESUIT 70, LAKE OSWEGO 57 - At Portland, Walker Kidd scored 14 points and Josh Tarver added 13 as Jesuit defeated Lake Oswego to open the boys Class 4A basketball tournament. Dougherty, the team's top scorer during the season at 18 points a game, had seven during the run. The Lakers made it interesting when Sullivan scored nine unanswered points to cut the deficit to 56-43 early in the fourth quarter. Three free throws by Sullivan and two by Aaron Collins pulled Lake Oswego within 62-54 with 3:42 remaining, and a 3-pointer from Michael White cut it to 64-57 with 2:30 left, but the Lakers didn't get any closer. CHURCHILL 72, MOUNTAIN VIEW 49 - At Portland, Jared Alsup had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Jordan Kent added 22 points, as Churchill began defense of its 4A title with a rout of Mountain View.
