Grants Pass blanks KU KLAMATH FALLS Brandon Hamada went 74 yards for a touchdown on the games first play from scrimmage and Grants Pass went on to defeat Klamath Union 21-0 in Southern Oregon Conference football Friday. The Caveman senior running back scored all three Grants Pass touchdowns and rushed for 158 yards. "They spread us out and trapped on the inside," said Klamath Union coach Wayne Amos, about the Cavemens opening-play touchdown. "I dont think we even touched him on the play. Hes pretty quick." Hamada added a 2-yard run for a touchdown in the second quarter and a 17-yard scoring run in the third period. He also caught the only two passes in the game for 33 yards. "They broke about three big plays on us," said Amos. "Other than that we played them pretty tough defensively." The story besides Hamada was the Cavemen defense, which limited the Pels to 92 yards. Klamath failed to complete a pass in 16 attempts and had two interceptions. "We couldnt move the ball." said Amos. "Theyre a little quicker up front than I thought they would be. They dominated the defensive line." ROSEBURG 30, REDMOND 22 At Redmond, after losing its season-opener to Beaverton, eighth-ranked Roseburg recorded its second straight win with the non-conference road victory against the Intermountain Conference foe.
