By John Stoeckl Updated: Oct 11, 2021 05:30 PM A A It's an old but famous bus that, after decades on the Stampede Trail near Healy, Alaska, was transported by helicopter to the University of Alaska Fairbanks where it will undergo restoration as a museum piece. Made famous by the Jon Krakauer book "Into the Wild", restoration lead Angela Linn says the bus represents much more than the 114 days Chris McCandless spent before dying in the bus.
