Dennis Jordan and several other members of the Eagle Point Fire Department spilled a little coffee when an SUV drove through the wall of their break room early Sunday morning. The driver�s name had not been released Sunday. Mail Tribune / Bob Pennell Truck crashes at Eagle Point station EAGLE POINT — A man rammed a truck through the side of the Eagle Point Fire Department Sunday morning, startling firefighters but injuring no one. The blue 1991 Ford F150 crashed into the break room of the building at 213 Loto St. at about 8:30 a.m., smashing through a wall and into a dining table, said Capt. Dennis Jordan. "It just decided to come through," said Jordan, who was on the phone at the time. "His claim was the throttle was stuck wide open." Eagle Point police declined to identify the driver, who apparently shared the cab of the truck with two other people and a dog. No arrests or lodgings connected with the incident were indicated on Jackson County Jail records Sunday. One firefighter was struck and two others were knocked into a hallway by the force of the impact, said Jordan. "I heard the ‘Bang!’ and the sound of water running and the scream of a wide-open engine," Jordan said. Firefighters were drinking coffee and reading the newspaper when the truck rounded the corner of Loto Street and Platt Avenue. "We felt really lucky," Jordan said. "Had anybody been sitting at the end of the table, where somebody usually sits, they would have been badly hurt."
