The Raiders (8-4 overall, 3-3 Cascade) muzzled the Owls (5-5, 2-4), 30-20, 30-28, 30-21, to earn their eighth victory in 10 matches against OIT since 1997. Hitters Kristina Matchett and Shelley Gorin paved the way, with Matchett notching 19 kills and 13 digs and Gorin slamming 14 kills and scraping 17 digs. Senior setter Sabrina Garboden assisted on 49 of SOU's 55 kills. "We're starting to develop into the type of team we envisioned at the start of the year," Raiders coach Paul Elliott said in a released statement. "Our team defense was good, and we dictated the flow of the match." SOU begins a three-match road trip Friday at Evergreen State.
