Jimmy Roy Kelly, 40, of the 11000 block of Perry Road, appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court Thursday on charges of first-degree criminal mistreatment, first-degree forgery, identity theft and two counts of first-degree aggravated theft. Bank of America employees in Medford notified police of the suspected theft after Kelly cashed unauthorized checks against his employer’s account, said Medford police Lt. Mike Moran. The victim told police that she hired Kelly to do odd jobs and stay overnight at her house, Moran said. She also gave him her automated teller card and personal identification number to make bank withdrawals for her, she told investigators. A convicted sex offender whose parole was revoked, Kelly initially was arrested Tuesday on a warrant issued by the state parole board.
