(Philippians 1:22) Dorothy Louise Mitchell, our loving mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ February 25, 2016. She died peacefully on her Oak Hills Ranch with her family at her side. Dorothy was born April 23, 1925 to John Monroe Rogers and Ruth Rogers in Wright City, Okla. Dorothy was a lifelong Christian and was a member of Simple Faith Church in Ashland, Ore. Dorothy and her husband, Ray, moved to Ashland in 1947. In 1962 they became the owners of Oak Hills Ranch on Dead Indian Memorial Road in Ashland. They raised white face Hereford cattle. Most important to them was raising their four children. Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed her ranch and her lunch visits to the Senior Citizens Center in Ashland. She often said,"If she died tomorrow that to tell everyone that she has lived a wonderful life." She is survived by John and Nona Mitchell of Fresno, Calif.; Ken Mitchell of Ashland, Ore.; Joyce McCormick of Ashland, Ore.; Sheryl and Ron McCormick of Oswego, Kans.; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ray Mitchell in 2006. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Litwiller Funeral Home, Ashland, Ore.
