The group put up billboards with accompanying captions like “Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is to skip church! I'm too old for fairy tales,” in cities like Memphis, Nashville and St. Louis. The group said billboard companies had refused to rent them signs in cities like Jackson, Alabama, fearing a backlash from community members due to the message. SURVEY SAYS No holy night: In a recent survey on holiday plays in Britain’s public schools, many respondents said their children’s schools no longer incorporated the Biblical nativity story. While some parents said their schools had adopted a multi-faith holiday play, one in 14 respondents said the holiday play had eliminated religious references altogether. The survey, conducted by Netmums, a British parenting website, polled more than 2,000 parents.
