At approximately 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, Nathan Eric Joyce allegedly stole approximately $200 in lottery tickets from the Minute Market at 836 block of Crater Lake Ave., according to a police affidavit filed in Jackson County Circuit Court. The document says Joyce acted as if he were going to purchase the tickets, then grabbed them from the clerk and fled after a struggle. Joyce, 29, entered a not guilty plea Wednesday afternoon to felony charges of third-degree robbery and methamphetamine possession, and to a misdemeanor second-degree theft charge. Joyce's next court date is March 21, and he remained lodged at the Jackson County Jail Friday on $10,000 bail. Joyce has a string of convictions for felony drug and property crimes. On Feb. 17, less than 10 days prior to the alleged theft, Joyce was convicted in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after he pleaded no contest to driving a Land Rover reported stolen in January. Joyce was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 18 months' probation in the case.
