New owners cooking up ideas for Gogi's restaurant JACKSONVILLE -- Veteran Rogue Valley chef William Prahl and his wife Joyce have bought Gogi's restaurant. Prahl formerly was with the McCully House Inn of Jacksonville and most recently chef at the Rogue Regency of Medford. In earlier years he worked at Mon Desir and the Sandiper. He left the valley to hone his skills in Key West, Fla., restaurants, then returned. The Prahls have bought Gogi's from Gogi and Jennia Tenyashvili, who also own Samovar, the Russian restaurant in Medford. The Tenyashvilis had for some time sought to sell one of the two restaurants, but keep the other. "We liked Gogi's the best," said Prahl. The building that houses Gogi's in Jacksonville was erected on Main Street in 1997. Prahl introduced a new menu Thursday which he describes as Northwest with some ethnic influences. He'll concentrate on seafood, lamb, duck, pasta and local greens and vegetables. He's expanding the appetizer menu. (Gogi's is at 235 W. Main St., Jacksonville. The restaurant will be open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, and also serve Sunday brunch. The phone number remains 899-8699.)
