The National Weather Service said a high wind warning will be in effect until 6 p.m. for the Siskiyous and Southern Oregon Cascades, Crater Lake, Crescent Lake, Diamond Lake, Union Creek and the Siskiyou Summit. In Northern California, McCloud, Tulelake and Dorris are under the advisory. In the Rogue Valley, weather officials expect winds of up to 35 mph from the south-southwest, with gusts up to 55 mph. Snow is forecast to follow, with more than a foot expected by Sunday in several spots around Jackson County, including the Siskiyou Summit and the Dead Indian Memorial Road summit, with as much as 20 inches expected for Lake of the Woods and Diamond Lake. Crater Lake could see as much as 3 feet of new snow by the end of the weekend. A flood watch is in effect for Josephine County and eastern Curry County through 10 a.m. Friday, with as much as 8 inches of rain predicted for parts of the Curry coastal range over the next several days. "Runoff from excessive rainfall will cause significant rises on area streams, creeks and rivers, with the potential for flooding," the watch said. "Mudslides and debris flows are also possible, especially near recently burned areas."
