Central Point police early Monday arrested Waits on a charge of possession of amphetamines and for violating his probation on previous misdemeanor convictions and also for failing to appear on a second-degree theft charge. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he was released Monday afternoon on his own recognizance. Assault — Stephen Shawn Schueler, 28, of the 100 block of Tenth Street, Gold Hill. Gold Hill police on Monday arrested Schueler on a charge of felony fourth-degree assault and for violating his probation from a previous fourth-degree assault conviction. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday evening without bail. Crime reports Theft — 4700 block of Industry Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of the theft of a 12-by-16-foot trailer valued at $1,500. The theft was reported to police at 9:40 a.m. Miscellaneous Jail releases — A total of 134 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 190 inmates. Of those, 65 were released before their scheduled court appearances, none was granted an early release from a sentence and 69 were released for other reasons.
