The visiting Eagles took the opener 4-2, but only after wiggling out of a bases-loaded, nobody-out jam in the bottom of the seventh unscathed. Humboldt finished off the sweep with a 9-3 win. Zac Ankeny went 2-for-4 while Taven Passey reached safely with two walks and a hit by pitch and also brought home a run for Medford, which fell to 6-9. In the nightcap, Humboldt scored five runs in the third to take an 8-0 lead and cruised from there. Medford leadoff hitter Josh Baptiste went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Ryan Sandoval 1-for-2 with two walks and Taven Passey 1-for-3 with an RBI. Dylan Marsh, who hit a double, started on the mound for the Mustangs and was pulled in the third after giving up five runs, four earned, on two hits and four walks through 2 1/3. Brady Buchanan was solid in a four-inning relief appearance, surrendering two runs on seven hits with a walk.
