Leaf bag pickups begin Monday in Medford Friday Nov 3, 2017 at 12:05 PM Nov 3, 2017 at 2:42 PM The Medford leaf collection program begins Monday, Nov. 6, and runs through Dec. 29. During these weeks, a collection truck will pick up leaf bags from Medford residents, at no charge to residents, to help keep the city's storm drains clear during the winter months. Anyone within Medford city limits is eligible for leaf pickup and must provide their own heavy duty plastic bags to collect their leaves — and only leaves should be included in the bags. The bags should be no larger than 33 gallons and weigh less than 40 pounds each. There is no limit to the number of bags that can be put out. Bags should be tied off to keep rain out and should be placed on the curb. On streets with no curbs, the bags should be placed eight feet from the pavement, off the roadway. On pickup weeks, bags should be set out by 6:30 a.m. Monday. Bags are picked up at different times in the north and south zones. The zone dividing line is West and East Main Streets, Hillcrest Road to North Phoenix Road and Cherry Lane east of North Phoenix Road. North Zone pickup weeks are Nov. 6-10, Nov. 27-Dec. 1 and Dec. 18-22. South Zone pickups are Nov. 13-17, Dec. 4-8 and Dec. 26-29.
