Coe sets UO doubles mark Missy Coe, a freshman softball player from North Medford High, set the University of Oregon single-season record for doubles in a doubleheader against Portland State Thursday. Coe lashed her 15th double, breaking the mark of 14 set by teammate Katie Mackey last season. The hit came in the first game as Coe went 2-for-3 in the 17th-ranked Ducks' 4-0 victory. She also walked once and scored a run. Coe went 1-for-4, with a walk and a run, in the second game, a 5-4 loss in 10 innings. Oregon is 33-18 overall and is host to two top-10 teams this weekend. It meets No. 3 Arizona today and No. 10 Arizona State Sunday. Both doubleheaders start at 1 p.m. at Howe Field. Today's Sports Index Mail Tribune Copyright The Mail Tribune 1999, Medford, OR U.S.A.
