That also beat the previous June high-temperature record of 91.1 degrees, set in 1918.   The average temperature for the month — which factors in highs and lows — is also the new king at 74.8 degrees, beating out the previous record of 70.6.  "Really the previous top 10 are only separated by a degree," meteorologist Michelle Cohen said. "That's a really big jump. That's quite the record."  Weather Service officials said 21 days last month hit 90 degrees or higher. The mercury shot into triple digits five days and broke six records for daily high temperatures.   Ashland also set an average temperature record, recording 69.5 degrees for June, beating out the previous record of 68.4-degrees set in 1918.  Klamath Falls, Roseburg, Cave Junction, Mt. Shasta City, Alturas and Yreka also saw record-breaking June heat.  The heat still has some work to do if it wants to hit the hottest month on record, period. That distinction still belongs to August 1967, which hit an average high temperature of 98.7 degrees, weather officials said. Just behind that is July 2014, which reached a 96.9-degree average high temperature .  If the forecast the rest of this week is any indication, July will bring more hot stuff. The Weather Service issued a heat advisory today that will last until 11 p.m. Friday. High temperatures of anywhere from 100 to 110 are expected across southwest Oregon and Northern California.  Weather Service officials say the advisory could be extended through Independence Day weekend.  "We're looking into that possibility.
