Two Bulldogs move to finals BOISE, Idaho -- Medford's Bulldog Boxing Club advanced two boxers Wednesday into the finals of the 2000 Western Trials, a senior Olympic qualifying tournament. Mike Wilson, 16, of Central Point and Sam Sleezer, 23, of Medford move into Friday's finals. A victory in this senior event qualifies boxers for the Olympic Trials, the following weekend in Tampa, Fla. Wilson upset 27-year-old Diallo Lawson of Oakland, Calif., in a criteria decision in the super heavyweight class. The officials scored the bout a 5-5 draw, but Wilson got the nod by outpunching his opponent 45-43. Lawson has been ranked in the Top 10 for the past two years. Sleezer had an easier time by scoring a 16-7 decision over George Garcia of Phoenix, Ariz., in the 201-pound division. The Bulldogs' Homero Gonzalez, 16, dropped an 11-4 semifinal decision to Reggie Davis of Portland.
