Deputies investigate report of home-invasion rape in White City Jan 13, 2015 12:00 AM A A Sheriff's deputies are stepping up patrols in White City after a reported burglary and rape Monday night. According to a Jackson County Sheriff's Department news release, deputies took a call at 7 p.m. of a burglary and rape in the 2700 block of Falcon Street. The victim, a 16-year-old girl, was home alone at the time of the attack. The news release said she was taken to a local hospital and examined by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Sheriff's department detectives and a fingerprint expert were called to the scene to help with the investigation. Investigators searched the neighborhood for evidence and talked to neighbors seeking possible witnesses. The suspect is described as a heavy-set male who was wearing a black, nylon ski mask and black gloves during the attack.
