The gift is part of the Mamie Eisenhower Library Project, started 50 years ago to encourage readers to learn more about the nation’s foundation of freedom. The donated books include: "Adventures in the American Revolution" series, by Susan Olasky, a columnist with World Magazine, for ages 8 and up. "The Faith & Freedom Trilogy," by Douglas Bond, an English and history teacher from Seattle who leads historical tours to Europe. "Patriot Series," by Robert J Skead, author, speaker and baseball enthusiast, who co-authored the historical fiction series for ages 8 and up with his father, Robert A. Skead. "The Global Public Square: Religious Freedom and the Making of a World Safe for Diversity," by Os Guinness, the great-great grandson of Arthur Guinness. A former BBC freelancer, Os Guinness has written or edited 30 books and drafted the Williamsburg Charter, signed by former presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, chief justices William Rehnquist and Warren Burger and others. Jackson County Republican Women is the oldest and largest club in the Oregon Federation of Republican Women, which is part of the National Federation of Republican Women.
