Josephine County sheriff’s deputies late Monday were searching for suspect Jerry Dwight Blaney, who was considered armed with a shotgun and dangerous, deputies said. Deputies were called to a land parcel on the 9600 block of Takilma Road about 1:30 p.m. by the report that Blaney, 41, was armed with a shotgun and was firing the weapon, deputies said. Officers arrived at the parcel, which contains five residences and several out-buildings, and evacuated Blaney’s mother and another woman who lives there, police said. Officers found Blaney on the second floor of one of the residences, and Blaney fired two rounds through the roof and one through a wall toward officers trying to negotiate with him, police said. Blaney then fled the residence on foot, police said. He is wanted on several felony charges, police said. Blaney is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has long brown hair tied into a pony tail and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, and was carrying a long gun — possibly a 12-gauge shotgun.
