Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend January 8, 2006 Restaurant Inspections Jackson County health inspectors evaluated 105 restaurants in December. All restaurants passed their semi-annual inspections, scoring 70 points or higher. Inspectors subtract points from a perfect score of 100 for critical violations. A portion of scores appear weekly in the Mail Tribune. Eight restaurants received a score of 100: Cookie Connection, Rogue Valley Mall. Deli-Bean, Medford. Gourmet Coffee Co., Medford. Joey’s Chili Parlor, Medford. Advertisement Kentucky Fried Chicken, East McAndrews Road, Medford. Pit Stop Espresso, Jacksonville. Subway, South Pacific Highway, Medford. Superior Fitness, Eagle Point. Restaurants that received passing scores are: Abby’s Legendary Pizza, Crater Lake Highway, Medford — 91. Ali’s Thai Kitchen, Medford — 99. All-American Yogurt, Rogue Valley Mall — 79. Amuse, Ashland — 95. Apple Peddler Restaurant, White City — 81. Applegate River Ranch House, Applegate — 70. Ashland Bean Scene, Ashland — 93. Back Porch BBQ, Jacksonville — 78. Avalon Bar and Grill, Ashland — 95. Back Porch BBQ, Jacksonville — 78. The Beanery, Ashland — 88. Beijing House, Medford — 83. Bella Union, Jacksonville — 84. Bellissimo Catering, Ashland — 98. Big Al’s Drive Inn, Ashland — 88. Bonsai Teriyaki Sushi, Medford — 92. Break Room Billiard Cafe, Medford — 97. Butte Falls Tavern, Butte Falls — 95. Chinese Gourmet Express, Rogue Valley Mall — 79. Critical violations include: foods held at improper temperatures, improperly cooled or reheated, not properly protected from contamination, from unapproved origins, unsafe, adulterated, or not honestly presented, not date-marked or discarded upon expiration; raw animal foods improperly cooked; presence of rodents or insects; inadequate personal hygiene; failure to clean and sanitize food equipment; lack of an approved water system; toxic chemicals or cleansers not properly stored, used, or labeled.
