Raider netters shut down Eastern Oregon LAGRANDE � The Southern Oregon University volleyball team wasted little time in dispatching Eastern Oregon, 15-7, 15-9, 15-9 to win its Cascade Conference opener on Friday. The Raiders, who improved to 5-3 overall on the season, won with ease in each game against an improved Eastern Oregon team. "We had things pretty much in control from the beginning," said SOU coach Paul Elliot. "Eastern�s improved a lot from last season. They have some good athletes who play hard for them." Jamie Csoros set up the Raiders� attack with 32 assists and added 11 digs. Nicki Simmons led SOU with 14 digs while Laura Lincoln and Kristina Wurtz had 11 apeice. The Raiders also picked up nice performances from freshmen Lindsay Aitchison, Kristina Matchett, Sarah Tatom and April Lowe. Matchett, from Klamath Falls, had 11 kills while Aitchison had six kills and Tatom added five assists and four digs. Lowe chipped in two digs in limited play. Southern Oregon hits the courts again today in another conference tilt against Albertson College in Caldwell, Idaho.
