She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Frey; six nieces and nephews; and her dog, Jackson. She was born January 16, 1938 in Sacramento, Calif. She retired early from Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. in Sacramento in 1985, and moved to Ashland, Ore. to be closer to her family. Upon arriving in Ashland, she went to work as a caregiver, displaying her gentle and caring personality for many years. She donated much of her free time providing care to Alzheimer's patients to give respite for their families through a program organized by the Episcopal Church in Ashland, and she donated annually to many charities, including The Heifer Project, Habitat for Humanity, and the American Red Cross. She loved gardening, watching soap operas, and going to yard sales. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her wish is a donation to charity in lieu of flowers. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Epsicopal Church on 2nd St. in Ashland.
