Grimy floors? Dusty windows? A fine crop of weeds sprouting in the backyard? Yup. When it comes to spring cleaning, we’ve all got the same annual problems. But, which is the biggest headache? Well, that depends. Your answers follow. After reading through them as you clean out the front hall closet, please take a moment to answer this week’s new question. We asked: What’s the big spring cleaning project that you just dread doing? Advertisement Cleaning all the outdoor furniture and the barbecue, they all looked clean last fall! — Victoria, Unalakleet, AK We just purchased a house in Ashland and unfortunately, we'll be "spring cleaning" the garbage, filth and debris left by the previous owners. A broken hot tub will have to be hauled away, along with various metal siding, garbage, old tires, children's unwanted toys, and even garbage stuffed into the woodstove and garbage piled high in the trashcan shed at the front of the driveway. I even found a pair of dirty boy's underwear in the front yard. It's one thing to have to roll up your sleeves and clean up the residual mess you have created over the past year; it is an entirely different thing to have to clean chew spit off of all the walls, clear old potatoes out of kitchen drawers and scrape mashed vegetables off the walls when you move in. We figured these folks would live up to their promise of hauling their junk and garbage away. I guess we should have put it in writing. Hopefully this serves as a warning to home-buyers who are too trusting in the common decency of the folks they are buying their home from. — Lisa P., Ashland Attacking all the weeds that have been popping up along with the bulbs in my yard. — Maria, Central Point Windows! — C.
