Grants Pass motorcyclist killed in Medford area crash By Nick Morgan Updated: Aug 20, 2021 09:17 AM A A A Grants Pass man has died following a crash during rush hour that temporarily closed North Pacific Highway between Medford and Central Point Thursday evening. Alexander Allen, 44, was identified as the motorcyclist who died in a crash involving a Subaru Legacy that was first reported at 6:06 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Highway 99 and Elk Street, according to a release issued Friday morning by Oregon State Police. Allen was riding a Buell motorcycle northbound on Highway 99 when, according to the preliminary investigation, the Subaru — driven by Nicholas Dent, 39, of Central Point — turned left onto Elk Street and collided with Allen. Allen died at the scene of the crash, according to police. Dent was uninjured. When asked whether any arrests or citations were made, OSP Capt. Tim Fox said the crash is still under investigation.
