Search Menu Login Reset Password Home Weather Archive Sign Up for Alerts Full Site Close Menu CRIME Man arrested after spitting on cars By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune May 04, 2015 - 10:04 AM A Jackson County man with a long criminal record  is in jail after he allegedly kicked and spat on several cars parked at a Medford grocery store and poured a cup of coffee on a police officer who tried to arrest him Friday. Wesley Kevin Hoseclaw, 50, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was also cited on a charge of possession of marijuana. His bail was set at $9,000. Medford police said they were dispatched to Trader Joe's at 9:53 a.m. Friday. Hoseclaw reportedly had been spitting on parked cars and kicking others, while harassing several patrons and delivery drivers. Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said two officers responded to the parking lot and spotted Hoseclaw nearby at the corner of McAndrews Road and Court Street. Hoseclaw walked away from the officers and into traffic. When the officers caught up and tried to detain him, Hoseclaw reportedly dumped a cup of coffee on an officer. "He actually poured it over the officer's head, down his face and everything," Budreau said, adding the officer then took Hoseclaw to the ground and cuffed him. The officer was not injured by the hot beverage. Hoseclaw has previously been convicted of attempted first-degree rape stemming from a 2012 incident and of failing to report as a sex offender, court records show. Records also show numerous misdemeanor citations since 2011 — several of them dismissed — including disorderly conduct, trespass, resisting arrest, menacing and harassment charges. "The last year or so we've had multiple calls involving him," Budreau said. "And a lot of the calls involved him spitting."
