Robert Todd Rossiter, 54, who was the target of an investigation by the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team, was taken into custody on five drug charges, including manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine near a school, police said. Also arrested for possession of meth were 39-year-old Jeffrey Carl Day, 59-year-old Christopher Anthony Irwin and 43-year-old Roy Lee Ross, Jr., according to MADGE. All were residents of the rented house, which had its living room partitioned into separate living quarters, as well as a converted garage and several outbuildings, Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said. MADGE investigators began getting complaints about suspicious activity at the residence about four months ago, Budreau said. Other information subsequently developed by investigators led to a warrant that paved the way for Friday's search, Budreau said. "Just because neighbors point out a house and say there's drug dealing there isn't enough to get a search warrant," Budreau said. "We need more information, and we got that in this case." During the search, investigators found drug paraphernalia throughout the house, as well as about an ounce of methamphetamine, scales, packaging and other evidence of sales, police said. Rossiter was taken into custody on single counts of unlawful distribution, manufacture and possession of methamphetamine, as well as two enhanced charges of distribution and manufacturing of methamphetamine with 1,000 feet of a school. The residence was near Washington School. Rossiter was lodged Friday in the Jackson County Jail on more than $2 million bail. All four suspects have since been released, jail records show.
