Hawthorne Pool is holding a "dog day" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $2 per dog. A human companion must accompany each dog, and pooches must remain on a leash when not in the pool. Canines of all sizes are welcome. Certified life guards will be on hand. Closed to the public until June, Hawthorne Pool will be completely drained and cleaned for the season following Saturday’s event, said Sue McKenna, city recreation supervisor. The activity is approved by the state health department, she said. Hawthorne Pool is in Medford’s Hawthorne Park between East Main and Jackson streets east of the Medford viaduct.
