Woman's body found in Klamath River Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 28, 2015 at 11:17 AM Posted Mar. 28, 2015 at 11:17 AM » Social News Klamath Falls Herald and News The body of a transient woman who had been missing for more than six weeks was found Thursday in the headwaters of the Klamath River in Klamath Falls. Alicia Christine Scott, 35, was reported missing Feb. 11. She last had contact with family and friends on Jan. 22 and did not have a permanent address at the time of her disappearance, though police said she did have ties to both Klamath and Deschutes counties. Lt. Rob Dentinger, Klamath Falls Police Department, confirmed Friday that the body recovered from the area known as Lake Ewauna was Scott’s. Lake Ewauna is a slow moving body of water just south of Upper Klamath Lake, at the head of the river. The body was found by a kayaker shortly before 1:20 p.m. Thursday, in the west side of the lake. Dentinger said it is unknown how long the body had been in water or what the cause of death was. Dentinger noted an autopsy will be performed, but he was unable to release the exact timeline for the postmortem examination. He said the case is still under investigation. No suspects or persons of interest have been identified in the case, according to Dentinger. He said anyone who knew Scott or saw her in the area should contact the KFPD. Detective Brandon Dougherty is handling the investigation and can be reached at 541-883-5336.
