OSF has typically held this program every year for shows at the start of the season and sometimes for shows near the end, as well, Cortez said. “I think some of the top ways this program benefits these organizations aside from getting food and money is that it also increases visibility and reminds people that these are important resources for the community, and helps with regular support to help keep our neighbors fed,” Cortez said. She said OSF also regularly rushes shows at $5 a ticket for those who receive SNAP benefits. The OSF 2019 season runs from March 8 to Oct. 27. For more information, visit www.osfashland.org. The Ashland Emergency Food Bank provides free food to residents of Ashland, Talent and other rural community members in need. Twenty-five percent of those served are children, according to a press release. The food bank also provides food for organizations that prepare meals for the hungry, such as Uncle Foods Diner and St. Vincent de Paul. ACCESS has provided food, housing and other essential services to low-income residents of Jackson County since 1976. ACCESS currently serves residents through 15 local programs.
