She was born December 9, 1975 to Monte and Shellie McCown in Grants Pass, Ore. and was raised in Glendale, Ore. After the death of her father in 1983, Jennifer lived with her grandparents Harold and Mary McCown. She loved animals and had several horses, cats, and dogs. She also helped raise farm animals and worked with her grandmother rehabilitating orphaned wildlife including baby raccoons and skunks. Her special companion of 16 years was her Chihuahua, Pepi. Her other dogs included Jaeger and Sebastian. Jennifer was an avid collector of Hello Kitty, Eeyore, and cows. Jennifer is survived by her partner, Howard Keith; her half-brothers, Fred Harris and Carl Salcedo; her half-sister, Diamon Groves; and her aunts, Bonnie McCown Freel, Lisa Caldwell, and Lea Ybarra. She was preceded in death by her parents, Monte McCown and Shellie Rae Harris. A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at The Church of the Nazarene, 974 E. McAndrews Rd., Medford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Jennifer McCown to the Southern Oregon Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Rd., Medford, Ore. 97501.
