To entice local bargain hunters, several Southern Oregon cities offer citywide yard sales each spring and fall. Some that normally charge fees to hold yard sales will waive them during the big events, and some will even promote the sales by allowing sellers to register their address on a map. Most run from sunrise to sunset, unless otherwise listed. The annual spring Eagle Point Golf Course Community yard sale will take place over three days. Running from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, the event encompasses a series of neighborhood sales throughout the golf course community. From Highway 62, turn at Shasta Avenue, then onto Alta Vista and take Eagle Point Drive. Watch for sale signs on Eagle Point Drive, RT Jones Boulevard, Arrowhead Trail, Glenwood Drive and all side streets and cul-de-sacs in between. The Central Point Citywide Yard Sale is always large despite being just one day. The sale included more than 200 addresses last year. The city of Central Point provides a map to help shoppers find their way around town. Participants who'd like to be included on the map need to register by 4 p.m. Monday, April 28. Contact City Hall at 541-664-3321. A large rummage sale to support the Gold Hill Historical Society and Museum to restore the “Lucky Bart Stamp Mill” will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Old Morrow's Hardware Building, 376 Second Ave., Gold Hill. The historical society will accept donations of clean, unwanted items (no mattresses or clothing) for its fundraising effort. Cash donations will also be accepted toward the restoration of the historical mining equipment. To schedule a drop-off, call 541-855-1182 and leave a message. Gold Hill residents often hold sales in conjunction with historical society effort, so people who make the drive from Grants Pass and Medford are likely to find other sales around town that day. (Correction: The details of the Gold Hill Historical Society sale have been updated in this story.) Two big sales will be held on this day. The city of Talent will hold its communitywide event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Maps of participating locations will be available from May 1 to 10 at Ray's Food Place, Talent City Hall and the Talent library. On the day of the sale, they'll also be available at the ODP Schoolhouse, 309 W. Main St. To participate in this sale, a sign-up sheet can be found at Ray's Food Place through Friday, April 25. It costs $5 to sign up and be included on the map. There will also be a big sale at The Expo hosted by Radio Medford. Billed as "Southern Oregon's largest garage sale," the sale will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with early-bird specials at 7 a.m. The sale is open to the public, as well as sellers and buyers. Admission will cost $2 for adults; free for kids 12 and younger. Early birds pay $10 to get in early. Hosted by the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, the sale often finds downtown business owners hosting sidewalk sales, as well. The annual Rogue Valley Manor sale will take place June 13-15. Hosted by residents and packing the Medford Armory with everything from housewares and jewelry to sporting goods and electronics, the sale will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. Coordinated by the Upper Rogue Independent, the annual Eagle Point City Yard Sale will take place on Saturday, June 14. The Jacksonville Citywide Yard Sale is well known for its supplies of vintage and antique goodies. The Jacksonville sale typically runs from sunrise to sunset, with some residents joining together, while businesses spread their wares along the city's main roadways and on the old courthouse grounds. The Eagle Point Golf Course Community group will hold its fall sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. (See directions above).
