She was born in Cedro Woolley, Wash. October 21, 1930. She was born to E. Ronald Rice and Margret L. Rice. She had one younger sister, Shirley Shearer. On June 16, 1951 in Medford, Ore. she married the love of her life, Charles F. Martin, who preceded her in death. Together they raised four children. She had a deep passion for family which was shown in her smile and gentleness. She also enjoyed knitting and handwork, as well as the enjoyment her and her father shared for baseball. After graduating from Medford High School in 1948, Jeanne went on to graduate from Willamette University in 1952. She began to teach elementary school, where she made a difference in the lives of everyone she taught over the years. Her love of teaching and the love for her children were enthusiastic, genuine and heartfelt. She is survived by her two daughters, Margaret L. Prier of Keizer, Ore., and Karen A. Fletcher of Central Point, Ore.; and her two sons Dayn C. Martin of Medford, Ore. and Jeffrey R. Martin of Springfield, Ore. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family with be having a private service to celebrate her life. Keizer Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services is caring for the family.
