Admission is free. The theme "Together for Tomorrow" conveys the event’s purpose, organizers say — to shape a sustainable future by inspiring personal commitment and stimulating action. In its fourth year, the North Mountain Park celebration of the 35-year-old worldwide event has more than 50 exhibits from local nonprofit organizations, businesses and government. Exhibits will include straw-bale home-building, solar energy demonstrations, a National Weather Service display about climate change, fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles and a homemade bio-diesel processor. Nonprofit groups taking part include Rogue Valley Audubon Society, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, Headwaters, Klamath- Siskiyou Wildlands Center, Siskiyou Project, Soda Mountain Wilderness Council and the Nature Conservancy. New this year is an All-Species Parade, a procession of art and music to celebrate wildlife. Advertisement Events for children include cooperative games with a 15-foot Earth ball, a bicycle rodeo and ScienceWorks bicycle-energy exhibit, in which children will learn how their legs can power a fan, light and radio. Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the day. Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike or ride a free shuttle from park-and-ride locations in Medford, Talent and Ashland.
