Domiciliary Grissom’s offensive output in the second game helped the Challengers gain a split with an 8-4 victory in the nightcap after dropping the opener to Riddle 3-2 at Memorial Field. Grissom went 3-for-3 with five RBIs in the second game to support the pitching of junior Kyle Campbell, who had a no-hitter through four innings. Matt Hauser got the Challengers (1-3, 1-2 Dist. 6) offense charged with a lead-off triple in the first inning of Game 2. Hauser scored on a sacrifice fly by Danny Sha. Kyle Hall reached on an error and went to second on the play, then Grissom delivered a RBI single. Travis Wolf was safe on an error and Kyle Shroy had a RBI double and scored the fifth run of the inning on an error. "Hauser provided a really big spark to lead things off," Cascade Christian assistant coach Rob Campbell said. "That started the whole inning and everybody came through after that." Advertisement Kyle Campbell had a shutout through five innings but got in trouble in the sixth when Riddle scored all four of its runs. Grissom entered in relief and finished the game. In the opener, Grissom singled in the Challengers two-run fourth, then came around to score on a one-out, two-run single by Wolf. "Grissom played excellent defense and had some timely hitting for us," said Rob Campbell.
