Ray Houck Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 18, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Mar. 18, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Raymond John Houck, 84, of Eagle Point, Ore. passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, March 15, 2015. Raymond was born September 27, 1930 in Hartford, Wash. to Jacob and Annie Houck. Ray graduated from Snohomish High School in 1949, followed by the University of Washington in 1953. Ray worked for JC Penney company after graduating from college until his retirement in 1990. Ray married the love of his life, Kathryn Smith, August 26, 1955. Ray and Kathy were married over 40 years. Ray loved his Washington Huskies. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathryn; parents, Jacob and Annie Houck; sister, Juneau; brothers, Bernard and Robert; sisters-in-law, Hazel Houck, Marian Meyer, and Elsie Smith; and brothers-in-law Paul Brand, George Meyer, and Joseph Smith. Raymond is survived by his loving children, daughter, Debbie and husband, Frank Clifton; daughter, Sandy and husband, Marty Ayers; and daughter, Cathy and husband, Jeff Steiner. He leaves his loving grandchildren, Brian Clifton, Frank Clifton, Erin Tarampi, Jeni Ayers, and Sara Steiner; great-grandchild, Callum Tarampi; sister, Margaret Brand; and sister in-law, Edna Houck. The family has respectfully requested a private service. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic charities or your favorite charity.
