Raiders overcome all odds for road victory BELMONT, Calif. - Southern Oregon had to overcome deficits in Games 2 and 3 in addition to pepper spray released in the gym by the Notre Dame de Namur student body before registering its fifth victory in six outings to open the volleyball season. Southern Oregon won the three-game match 30-23, 30-28 and 31-29. The Raiders were trailing 21-15 in the second game when coach Paul Elliott pulled his team off the floor because of the pepper spray. The Raiders regrouped to outscore Notre Dame 15-7 to close out the game. "We kept our poise," said Elliott. "We made plays at the end of games to win the match. We hung in there and played strong."
