John Andrew Kakouris Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Feb. 15, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Feb. 15, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News 1-11-1962 ~ 2-5-2015 It's with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John. He was a fighter until the end of his lengthy illness. He was a hotshot firefighter with the Winema National Forest Service, owner of John's Pruning & Landscaping. John had a passion for the outdoors and adventure. He loved to travel, especially to Mulege, Mexico, motorcycles, family and his Lord. John was an adoring husband to his wife, Rebecca; a proud father to his daughter, Emily Gracey (Ryan); and grandson, Ryder. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Joan Thorngate; father , Paul Kakouris; sister, Julie Arthur; niece and nephew Kirstin and Matt Bode; and many close family friends. He was preceded in death by his "nana" and two brothers; Tony and George. Although he is gone his spirit will live on until we meet again. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 425 Middle St., Jacksonville, OR.
