The 6-foot-2 Weaver averaged four kills per set (240 total kills) last fall for the Loggers, who finished 12-8 overall. She also led Butte Falls in aces and blocks. Weaver, a 4.0 student, was named outstanding player on the under-18 Spiketown volleyball club. The Davis & Elkins Senators compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. They went 15-16 overall, 6-4 in league in 2015. TONEY TO OIT: Former Phoenix High basketball standout Baylee Toney has signed with Oregon Tech after two seasons at Shasta College. Toney averaged 16 points on 41.7-percent shooting and eight rebounds at the Redding, Calif., community college. She was named conference freshman of the year and claimed all-conference recognition this past winter. Toney owns the Pirates' single game, single season and career records for rebounds. The NAIA Owls went 26-9 this winter. DESAULNIER CHOSEN: Southern Oregon University men’s basketball player Ben DeSaulnier is one of 16 selections to the NAIA's Association of Student-Athletes, the national office announced Tuesday. Members of the ASA are selected from a pool of nominees from each conference and the Association of Independent Institutions. DeSaulnier was nominated by Rob Cashell, the commissioner of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The ASA will be made up of 33 members representing every NAIA sport and every conference in 2016-17. DeSaulnier's term will last through the 2017-18 academic year. A 6-foot-3 sophomore, DeSaulnier has helped SOU to the national tournament the past two seasons. Last winter, he led the Raiders and ranked eighth in the CCC in points per game (18.3) on 52-percent shooting from the field, 74-percent shooting from the line and 45-percent accuracy from 3-point range.
