The New Mexico Department of Public Safety (DPS) has received notification from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement advising that you are a convicted sex offender and that you meet the requirement to register in New Mexico. Pursuant to NMSA 29-11a-1, a convicted sex offender who resides in New Mexico shall register with the County Sheriff no later than ten (10) days after establishing residence in this state. Do not hesitate; failure to comply with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act will result in a 4th degree Felony. Please provide the Sheriffs' Department with the Judgment and Sentence regarding your sex offense conviction.
If you have any questions about this notice, or about the Sex Offender Registration Act, please contact the DPS, at (505) 827-3314.
