Vision
The vision of the University of the Virgin Islands School of
Medicine (UVISM) is to improve the health care of the people
of the Territory and wider Caribbean community and to
address pressing national and international health issues in
support of the global community.
Mission
The mission of UVISM is to educate students from the diverse
communities of the U.S. Virgin Islands, the wider Caribbean
and the Continental US as physicians dedicated to the health
and well-being of their communities. These physicians will be
prepared through innovative pedagogy that results in
physicians who are life-long learners, solution finders, team
players and leaders of the 21st Century.
