Landy's Photographs of THE BAND— The Book
Elliott Landy's Photographs of THE BAND— The Book
By Elliott Landy
The cover of Van Morrison's Moondance, and of Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline.
That's Elliott Landy, the influential photographer who helped define the
Woodstock era. Some of his most iconic photos are of The Band, and now, 45
years after the release of Music from Big Pink, Landy is collecting rare, never-
before-seen photos of the group for a historic book.

Restore the Lincoln "Courting Couch"
Restore the Lincoln "Courting Couch"
By Springfield Art Association
What's a worn-and-torn horsehair sofa got to do with a historic presidency? A
lot, if it happens to be the very couch on which Abraham Lincoln sat with Mary
Todd during their courtship. Now, the Springfield Art Association wants to give
this presidential artifact some loving care — after all, the 1830s were a long
time ago.

"Weaving the woolen muffler for the alpaca I sheared"
By Shiro Masuyama
Artist Shiro Masuyama likes crafting self-referential pieces of clothing for
animals. First it was a knit jumper for an Irish sheep, made of the sheep's own
wool. Now, he's going to travel to Peru to weave an alpaca scarf for the long
neck of that same alpaca. We love it, but we also think it might be shear
madness. (Sorry.)
