Hi Jeffrey,
I'm back in Hong Kong. =nbsp;I put together a Vive setup to bring to your place the next time I =m over. The setup will
take up part of a room (https://www.vive.com/us/support/howto/720450.html). =nbsp;
I have = calendar of events that I am planning that I'd like to brief =ou on (ideally in person) including TSC that is
happening in June (see =he below). I am involved with a project in Tulum and plan to be =here in Jan. (we are setting up
a research centre at this place = https://drive.google.com/file/d/OBwkI6JyrfFtMzcwMXNMNkllYTevi=w) and intend to
run the "Transformational Technologies - =ld and New" event there next year). The partners in the =ulum project are
also involved in some of the hottest parties in Ibiza =nd Tulum (http://thebpmfestival.com/, http://www.ibiza-
spotlight.com/night/promoters/woomoon) =f you are looking for something to do in Jan.
I met with Stuart =ameroff and James Tagg while I was in NYC. James went to visit =ulum after our meeting. I will see
Stuart in Tokyo and Shanghai =n December. While I was in NYC, I also had a great several days =ith Joe Pagano Jr. He is
developing very nicely based upon the =ork that I do in transformation. I have asked him to come with me =o visit you
the next time I see you (he's now based in =YC).
Are you =amiliar with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRgzRdFRUk. =nbsp;Would love to get your take on Art
(and get an understanding of =hat, if anything, you are doing in that space.
Things must be pretty interesting for =ou post-election!

TSC 2017 SHANGHAI
'The Science of Consciousness'
June 6-9, 2017
Disneyland Shanghai =esort, Shanghai, China
EFTA_R1_00107841
EFTA01785592
Sponsored by Crystal Globe Conscious =nterprises, Shanghai, China
and The Center for Consciousness Studies, The =niversity of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona
'The Science of Consciousness' ('TSC') is =he world's largest and longest-running interdisciplinary conference on =11
aspects of the nature of conscious awareness, feelings and =xistence. These include how the brain produces
consciousness, how =onsciousness can causally affect brain processes, the best empirical =heories, do we have free will,
evolution of life and =onsciousness, the origins of moral and aesthetic values, how =o improve mental, physical and
cognitive function, and =hether consciousness can persist after bodily death, e.g. =hrough 'uploading' to machines, or via
mental processes tied to the =tructure of reality. These and other relevant questions are approached =hrough many
disciplines in science, philosophy, business, the arts and =ontemplative practices.
TSC began in 1994 at the University of Arizona in Tucson, =rizona, and returns to Tucson in even-numbered years,
alternating with =SC conferences around the globe (Italy, Denmark, Japan, Hungary, Hong =ong, Sweden, Czech
Republic, India and, most recently, Helsinki, =inland in 2015). Now, co-sponsored by the Center for Consciousness
=tudies at the University of Arizona, and Crystal Globe, Shanghai, =hina, the 23rd annual TSC will be held at the =ew
Shanghai Disneyland Resort, June 6-9, 2017, emphasizing modern =oncepts in the light of ancient traditions.
For example, many see the brain as a =omputer, with consciousness emerging from complex computation among =rain
neurons, or from as-yet-unknown circuits or features of biological =atter and energy. This approach motivates 'brain
mapping', artificial =ntelligence ('Al') and efforts to 'upload' human minds into =onscious machines. On the other hand,
some see consciousness as a =undamental property of the universe, akin to mass, spin or charge, =ather than emerging
from them. These approaches =nclude panpsychism, dualism, idealism, Eastern philosophy, =hitehead, quantum physics
and cosmology.
The conference will consist of Plenary talk sessions, Concurrent =alk sessions, Posters, Technology and Art Exhibits,
Social Events, =ntertainment, Pre-conference Workshops and Satellite Excursions. =bstract submissions are invited for
consideration for Plenary and =oncurrent Talks, Posters and Exhibits. Abstract submissions will open =ovember 3, and
authors will be notified by January 10, 2017. Guidance =nd assistance will be offered to registrants for Chinese Visas
=required), travel and sightseeing.
