Recent events of course have caused some soul searching. The Steve Jobs youtube that I sent you also helped clarify some thoughts. I got engaged 5 years ago this March and married in June. At the time, I had a big enough founders stake in a company backed by grade A VCs where the cash out was visible at the end of the tunnel. My plan was to do a slow fade in to philanthropy. The VC's made every mistake in the book (not to be bitter or cast blame, just statement of fact) and 8 years of work dissolved. The root of my intention was to have the financial means to transition my energy and skills to altruism. That hasnt changed except I won't be doing it , at least yet, with my own pile of cash. That is not to say that I will not put any energy into commercial ventures as appropriate. I would like to get some insight and input from you. When you have a chance please call me.
