Mr. Pyle was born near Quinsy, Adams County, Illinois, in
1861 and moved to Texas with his parents neva* Bonham, Texas.
Lie was educuted in Texas and Arkansas, anl taught **heal near

elected to the legisl,ture in 1931 and surved one term.
"We h-ve seen the development of this cointy and have had
some very good ye re nd some lean years. But this oountry has
the kind of history that is common to all of the southwest. It
is settled up by pioneers from nearly all the states.
"Lost of my teaching has been in the rural districts, and
it 'emit: pride that I note the development of the oonsolidated
districts. Curry county can point with pride at having soy. of
the best rural district schools in the United St tee."
Mr. Pyle is writing a history of the county Ald city in
which he has lived so long.
