LOS ()FILMS
Until a few years ago there existed, and may survive yet,
at Las Vegas and Santa Pe the cuAom of "asking Oremus." Groups of boys
of the humbler class banded toother and asked for gifts from house to
house at Christmas time. At each door they sang little couplets, each
one beginning with the Latin word, Oremus. New Mexico housewives usually
prepared and gave out quite generously a special supply of Christmas
goodies for Los Oremus.
