The free event features artwork, live music, artist demonstrations and refreshments. Visit www.ashlandgalleries.com for this month's art walk map of participating venues and information about exhibits. The Schneider Museum of Art on the Southern Oregon University will also take part in the art walk. A trolley will carry visitors to campus for art viewing and food from the Fired Up food truck that will be parked behind the museum. Call 541-552-6245 or see sma.sou.edu . Lithia Park Nature Walks: Walk with naturalists through Lithia Park and learn about plants, trees, animals, water, geology and history at 10 a.m. Fridays, Sundays and Wednesdays through Sept. 30. Orgone is an eight-piece band that plays funk and soul, Jelly Bread plays "desert twang" with four-part harmonies, and multi-instrumentalist AfroQBen plays samples and futuristic synths. Saturday, June 4 Great Southern Oregon Paint Out: Artists are invited to participate in an outdoor painting and competition event Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5, in Talent. The event is open to artists working with paint and pastels. No photography or digital art is allowed. Outdoor painting is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Paschal Winery and Vineyards, 1122 Suncrest Road, Talent. Outdoor painting is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in and around downtown Talent or in the surrounding countryside. Finished work is eligible to be sold and entered into an art contest. Cash awards are $500 for first place, $250 for second place, $125 for third place and $100 for a People's Choice award. The participation fee is $25 for one day or $40 for both days.
