Massive Marijuana Bust in Josephine County Sees 1,000 Plants Destroyed and Two Arrested Crime & Courts By Diane Megaw On Aug 29, 2025 Courtesy: Josephine Co. Sheriff’s Office JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) officers executing a search warrant at a suspected marijuana grow site in the 200 block of Laurel Road, Cave Junction, on Monday, seized 1,000 marijuana plants and arrested two individuals on the site. The 1,000 marijuana plants were destroyed, and, as the property also had multiple electrical, water, and solid waste code violations, civil forfeiture of the property is being considered. 55-year-old Koy Chounlabout and 52-year-old Lae Robert Chounlabout were arrested on charges of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana.
